ABOUT
I spent fifteen years designing systems that actually worked for the people inside them.
Now I’ve mapped what happens when high-achieving women succeed at the expense of themselves, and built a way out of it.

THE CREDENTIALS
I'm Dr. Samantha-Rae Dickenson, EdD, MSPH. Founder and creator of High-Functioning Survival Mode™, a theoretical construct changing how the world understands high-achieving women.
For over fifteen years I advised Fortune 500 organizations on strategy, operations, and building systems that actually work for the people inside them. I built a multi-six-figure consulting practice doing it. I've been featured in Forbes and Fortune, and invited to speak with EBONY, NIH, The Female Quotient, and General Assembly.
High-Functioning Survival Mode™ came out of my own recovery. Then I studied it, formally and rigorously, in a three-phase international study of 1,003 women across 29 countries. It's the first research of its kind, and it's the foundation for everything I do.
THE PERSON
Here's what the credentials don't tell you.
As a Caribbean woman and an eldest daughter, rest was never normalized for me. I learned early that being useful was how you earned your place, and I got very good at it. Four degrees, the career, the business, I had built a life that looked successful, but I was really living in High-Functioning Survival Mode™.
I burned out. Twice. The second time, I decided to do things differently.
After years of performing, overworking, and proving my worth through achievement, I took a sabbatical. I left the life I'd built and went looking for who I was without the performance. I rested in a way I'd never let myself rest. That rest allowed me to redefine my relationship to work, to myself, and to my life, and I realized what true alignment actually looks like. My intuition, my creativity, and my connection to my ancestors also got stronger. So I didn't build this framework from theory alone. I built it from my own life.
That's why I can guide other women through it. I not only understand it on a scientific level, I've lived it.

HOW I WORK
I bring my full self to this work.
What I've learned reshaped how I think about success for high-achieving women, and it reshaped how I live. I don't believe rest is something you earn or that your worth is measured by how useful you are. I believe your real self comes back when you stop performing and start showing up grounded, creative, and held by the people around you. That's the work I do, and it's the work I've done on myself. I bring all of it to the table with you.
