Autistic Burnout Recovery Portals

Over 70% of autistic folks experience burnout, and most struggle to find the resources they need to recover. Let’s change that. Take a quick quiz to find out what stage of burnout you’re in, and let’s get you on the path to recovery together.

Struggling with Autistic Burnout? You're Not Alone.

I know firsthand what it’s like to face burnout as a neurodivergent person. It’s tough, and traditional advice doesn’t always work for us. Through my own journey, I realized that burnout was cyclical and not linear for neurodivergent folks, and there were stages with different symptoms that required different levels of support. So, I created an Autistic Burnout Recovery Framework™ and Recovery Portals to fill the gap and give you the tools you need to recover. Here's a quick overview of each stage.

Pre-Burnout

  • You’re feeling the strain, even if you’re not fully burned out yet.

  • Recognize early signs like increased stress and irritability.

  • Focus on proactive self-care, stress management, and creating a sustainable routine.

Stage 1

  • You’re running on empty, doing just enough to get by.

  • Physically and mentally exhausted.

  • Focus on basic needs, essential tasks, and simple self-care to stabilize and start refilling your energy.

Stage 2

  • You have a bit more energy, but it’s still limited.

  • Create a routine that prioritizes rest and gently reintroduces joyful activities.

  • Avoid the temptation to push too hard, too soon.

Stage 3

  • Your energy levels are more stable, and you’re starting to feel more like yourself.

  • Reintroduce old routines with some modifications while prioritizing rest to avoid slipping back into deeper burnout.
